A Texas city man, 83-year-old William Brillhart, was arrested and charged with the murder of 66-year-old Glen Davis, police say.

On May 9, authorities alleged Brillhart took the life of Davis in the 3600 Block of FM 517, within the vicinity of the former HL&P inlet water bridge. A week after the victim’s demise and follow-ups on several leads, a Galveston County District Judge established that there was enough evidence to arrest and formally charge the defendant with murder.

Following Brillhart's arrest, which took place at San Leon, Texas, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Public Safety Special Response Team, the Texas City Police placed the defendant in the custody of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department Jail, reported Click 2 Houston.

Brillhart is being held on a $500,000 bond.

The case remains wide open, and authorities are encouraging anyone with information to contact the Texas City Police Department at 409-643-5720 or Mainland Crimestoppers at 409-945-tips.
