A South Carolina man will never walk free again after killing a man who had a relationship with his stepdaughter and his friend.

An Anderson County Superior Court Judge, Honorable R. Lawton McIntosh, sentenced Frank Thomas Rhoads to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the shooting death of Dequavious Tillison and Lorenzo Hunter.

After a 4-day trial, Rhoads was found guilty and convicted of two counts of murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. The initial trial against Rhoads was declared a mistrial in March, according to Fox Carolina..

On Feb. 6, 2021, the defendant and two of his relatives, William Christopher Flynn and Dominick Michael Rhoads, got into a heated argument with Tillison at a local bar because of his relationship with his stepdaughter. Hence, after the bar closed, the defendant waited at the victim’s home as Tillison arrived at his driveway with Hunter in the driver's seat.

Then, Rhoads walked up to the car and fired six shots at point-blank range, striking Tillison twice in the head and Hunter four times before fleeing the scene with Flynn and Michael. Tillison died at the scene, while Hunter was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Six days later, the defendant was spotted in Virginia, which led to a high-speed chase, facing oncoming traffic on the interstate.

Flynn and Michael Rhoads remain incarcerated while awaiting trial, reported WSPA.
